Hello, my name is Samiha Matin. I'm a freshman studying at the University of Michigan with an undecided major.

This is a collection of essays and their subsequent reflections over the fall semester in Writing 100 Class during 2014.

Working upon these essays have truly helped me to become a better writer. It allowed me to nurture my skills, especially at handling academic writing. I also learned countless, various techniques when approaching topics that deal with social impacts and global change all around the world.

We have also read several essays by prominent activists and advocates such as Martin Luther King, Frederick Douglass, Nelson Mandela etc. The documentary film I Am by Tom Shadyac which was about one man's voyage of self-discovery after a traumatizing activity also inspired me when I worked upon my essays.

Needless to say, I've learned a lot and greatly enjoyed my time in class here. I would definitely recommend anyone to take this class, especially those like me, who are terrified of the transition in college writing. This is definitely a must for you!
